Overview
The words we use shape the way we think: it's the smallest phrases, repeated over time, that influence our perception of a topic or a person. Language reflects a society's values and it's time to challenge the meaning of harmful expressions embedded in our daily speech.
This Series identifies one of such expressions, reclaiming "like a girl" from a diminishing remark into a statement of strength. Throw, fight and run like a girl: powerfully, unapologetically and with impact. Let's redefine these words to celebrate who we are, as individuals and as a community.

Challenge
One of the main goals was to visually convey the impact of women, as well as create an empowering mood.
Approach
To achieve this effect, the pieces were layered to create physical depth. Several layers of foam, painted with acrylic to add texture, were placed on top of each other with specific cuts to achieve this three-dimensional quality.
Contrasting colours were also used to create a sense of energy and movement in the illustrations. Finally, the visual language combined colour blocks with hand-embroidered lines to express the value of humanity and to celebrate the craft techniques that were traditionally associated with women and have been overlooked, but which now demonstrate a sensitive and intricate skill set.
The four analogue pieces were exhibited in Berlin for three months in 2025
