Overview
Branding and packaging design for a new Sri Lankan doughnut brand.
As the opening coincided with the Coronavirus pandemic, the company initially relied on deliveries and pop-up shops, such as one located next to the Colombo Zoo.

Challenge
Initially, the owner asked me to design the packaging for his new company, which would initially operate solely through delivery due to the pandemic.
When I asked about their branding, he said there wasn't any, so I had the freedom to create it from scratch. In Sri Lanka, especially in Colombo, branding is not always part of their strategy. The challenge was to create memorable packaging with a distinctive identity.
Approach
To create a fun and personal feel, a pastel colour palette was chosen, with soft colours and a series of illustrations forming the core of the brand. The idea was to create a brand that looked like it had come straight out of an animated cartoon: fun, festive and friendly.
Following the art direction of this packaging design, a delivery van and several fixed and pop-up front shops were later implemented.
